Two Carrion Crows
Tapped at my window
I opened
letting them in
‘Why it’s a pleasure a surprise visit from two Black Vultures’
I uttered
as they fluttered
lighting a cigarette
I proceeded to sit
Chat to my new guests
who flew in to take a rest

‘We have traveled many seas
Guided by the breeze
Survived being heated, the freezes
Diseases and fleas
Eaten the best Of life and death
The scraps of other beasts
Have been our best feasts
Made circles around our prey
Awaiting their breath to fade away
Leaving the evidence of good times
Bones, useless flesh and some bloody wine
Roosted in the comfiest swamps
Hunt for the sweetest chomps
Our meals are better cold to devour
Our eyes so dark, they hide a prey’s future’
‘Should I feel underprivileged or praise your carnage?’
‘That depends on if you decide to die or live’
‘You filthy Carrion Crows shush away from my window!!!’
‘We’ll be back real soon to feast from morning to noon’
‘On who?’
‘You’
